Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation – Engaging the public in development
Will Tucker Consulting is supporting UK non-profits to use the evidence generated through the Aid Attitudes Tracker research programme to improve their public communications and engagement. The Aid Attitudes Tracker seeks to understand and promote the best methods to engage the public in international development. Research and analysis is conducted by YouGov and University College London School of Public Policy with input from Oxfam, Save the Children, Comic Relief, One Campaign, VSO, Action Aid, WaterAid, World Vision and DFID. The programme is funded by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation.
Children’s Investment Fund Foundation – Nutrition Advocacy
Will Tucker Consulting led a review of Children’s Investment Fund Foundation’s (CIFF) Nutrition Advocacy Portfolio, supporting the in-house team to identify challenges and opportunities to ensure that their ambitious strategy is fulfilled. Will also supported CIFF’s partnership management with a number of strategic research, policy and advocacy partners, developed an approach for their collaboration with ‘nutrition champions’ and helped to co-ordinate planning for the Nutrition for Growth Summit at the Rio Olympics in 2016. In early 2016 Will worked with partners to deliver an investment of just under $1m for the Jamie Oliver Food Foundation to lead campaigning on child under-nutrition in 2016.
Better Care Network – Behaviour Change
Orphanage volunteering is bad for child development, incentivises child trafficking and keeps children held in sub-optimal conditions. Will Tucker Consulting led the strategic and funding proposal development of a behaviour change campaign for Save the Children UK and Better Care Network which will reduce the number of young people travelling from the UK, USA and Australia to volunteer in orphanages overseas.
Will set up Will Tucker Consulting in Summer 2015 in order to help more organisations to connect people with causes. Previous to setting up the consultancy Will worked for VSO, Save The Children UK and Oxfam GB leading teams delivering campaigns, advocacy and public engagement projects. Out of work Will can be found in the garden, in the kitchen, on the squash court and in the countryside. You can connect with Will, and see his CV, on Linkedin.
